Eel
Eel Leather is called the ‘Silk of the Sea’ thanks to its light weight, suppleness, smooth texture and surprising strength. Small skins, which come in both matte and glossy finishes in bright colours, are sewn together to create larger pieces, which can be used for anything from wall panels to wallets. Eel Leather is almost maintenance free.
Galuchat
Galuchat is leather of the stingray. Originally used to clad a variety of courtly objects such as sword handles, sheaths, snuff boxes and wig cases, it soon became popular for luxury household items as well. Galuchat (French for “shagreen”) embodies the best qualities of both pearl and leather and requires a very skilled craftsman to work it.
Ostrich
Ostrich leather is one of the strongest yet most pliable leathers in the world. In addition to its uniquely bumpy texture, referred to as ‘quills’, the leather is full of natural oils and the more one touches the leather, the softer and more supple it will become. These qualities make ostrich leather much sought after for smaller products.
